A Small Update To A Fun Concept

Flying with Charlie: A Small Update with Big Dreams
Back when I first started developing Flying with Charlie, I had grand plans for the game and its prototype. The original idea was to create a world straight out of a child’s imagination—where kids could meet small, whimsical companions, each granting the main character unique attributes or powers.
Charlie, the titular companion, was actually the second concept I had in mind. The first was a fire-breathing companion with an ability reminiscent of Spyro’s fiery attacks from the Reignited Trilogy.
Since creating this prototype, I’ve learned so much more about game development. This journey has shaped how I approach design, mechanics, and storytelling. Yesterday, I worked on a minor update to give Flying with Charlie a small but meaningful facelift. The update includes new sound effects, some quality-of-life improvements to the flying mechanic, and the integration of the original character model that I had acquired early on but wasn’t sure how to implement.
This update only took a few hours to complete, but it feels great to polish and refine even a small part of the project. If you enjoy the concept or see its potential, let me know! Who knows—maybe I’ll expand Flying with Charlie into something bigger one day. For now, here’s a fresh take on a project that still holds a special place in my heart.
